League Information
It is our primary purpose and goal of the Pacific Basketball League to provide opportunity for children to improve skills and maintain physical activity through the game of basketball. 2020 brings multiple challenges to operate as usual;
1. Seaside school gyms are in transition
2. COVID-19
However, we are aiming to still provide a safe and healthy environment for our children to get a league season, even though it will look a little different. We have been working diligently and thoughtfully to provide the best opportunity for all involved. Our plan is outlined below;
In order to follow Oregon State Guidelines, we will run more clinic/camp style practices with small groups. Masks will be required. All players will practice skills and drills one day a week at the Camp Rilea gym. We hope to obtain another gym facility in December and if that does happen then we will schedule games for the teams then. At this point, practices will start November 9 and end December 16. Again, we will add games in the month of December, if we are able.
We have removed the late fee this year, to help accommodate financial difficult situations, but ask that you sign up early as a courtesy. Since this is such an unusual year we need to get a clear picture of how many players will be participating so we can schedule the practices appropriately.
We will still be needing some volunteer coaches to help at practices and coach if/when we schedule games. We will need referees, set-up and time-keepers if we play games so please continue to sign up to volunteer and we will ask you to help, if needed in December.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. We will do our best for your children!
